My “Other” Wedding

T has a big family and we have a lot of friends from various stages of our lives we want to invite, so the question of wedding size was pretty much settled on “med-large” from day one. However, I have developed a secret obsession with intimate weddings. The thought of getting married with only my closest family and friends is simply bewitching. The problem is that when I try to come up with that “closest” list, it keeps growing way past the “intimate” stage, and I have to give it up as a lost cause!

I don’t know that I’d go so far as to say that an intimate wedding is my wedding fantasy — I prefer to think of it as my “other” wedding idea. If I were disciplined enough to streamline our guest list enough to have an intimate wedding, though, yesterday’s featured wedding on SMP is the kind I would want. You may recognize this photo from my post yesterday afternoon:

Well, I was so much in love with the wedding that I just had to share more of the loveliness today! All photos are by the oh-so-talented Jessica Johnston.

Liz and Ken had an intimate, lovely wedding with only 15 family and friends. Don’t you adore how happy and in love they look?

And I absolutely love Liz’s Badgley Mischka bolero:

And the beautiful setting for dinner (who says small weddings have to be casual?):

But my favorite part, and the part that makes me adore intimate weddings, is the sense of calm joy that seems to suffuse every image.

  1. This small intimate kind of affair is what I thought we would be having for our ceremony in Vegas. I still long for it at times, but I am still happy with the wedding we are planning
